Hi, I am working on a pcb that is meant to have an stm32l4 chip at the middle we are hoping to use I2C to send messages from the chip to the multiplexor, we also have the J1 unit which is our db9 which is providing us our CAN line for controlling the chip. The multiplexor’s function is meant to send messages to the 4 independent sensors and we are to be able to tell the sensors what to do and such. As this is my first time using a PCB designer, I would love some critiques in how I can make my design better in functionality as well as aesthetic to make the components placed better. Thanks in advance.
Generally this forum is intended to help with KiCad related questions (what function use to reach something, why I get this or this Error, how to move my library to new version and so on) and not how electronic works or how to design PCBs.
Just yesterday we had question like your:
And the other 4 days ago:
The better place for such questions are general electronic forums like EEVBlog for example. I believe more people will look there at your PCB.
For me (in some PCBs I see) surprising is how small vias people use. My minimal (not in thermal pad under ICs) via has 0.4mm diameter hole with 0.2mm annular ring so my vias diameter is 0.8mm.
In your PCB surprising is why you use THT resistors while using other elements SMD.
