I submitted gerbers of my first project which had all the silkscreens showing in the 3D rendering.
The photo that was shown after ordering was missing 3 silkscreen items. They sent me a view of the drill dwg which showed them missing?
Any suggestions on what might be wrong would be helpful.
Go to help>about>copy version information and post that.
I have not used the 3D functions, but I suspect that is not intended as a reliable check on everything in the layout. I guess the 3D models are either there or not, and the silkscreen may be permanently fixed (sort of) to the footprint in the 3D view. I think you probably need to check the layers in KiCad and the gerbers before ordering.
3D rendering runs from the layout editor. Maybe you added the silkscreen items and forgot to regenerate the gerbers before submitting? Or those 3 items aren’t really on the silkscreen layer, you put them on a different layer?
I usually put the zip of the Gerbers through a web based viewer like tracespace view
Could you have uploaded an older version of the zip file to the fabricator? Or try another fabricator, it’s usually free to upload a design and preview before paying.
Another thing to watch out for: Changing project name or file naming format (Protel or not; Protel filenames are not necessary for JLCPCB these days, some tutes are outdated) between generating gerbers, resulting in a directory with a mix of old and new gerber files. Best to nuke the gerber directory before regenerating the files.
Also JLCPCB supplies a plugin for submitting jobs which takes some hassle out, find it in the PCM. You never told us what version KiCad you’re running, hopefully it’s the latest in v8.

Or wait for a moderator to promote you. When you can post attachments, post the entire project, whcih can be created by archiving the project in a zip file. The settings are part of the project and may affect the visibility of silkscreen items.
