I just downloaded kicad symbols libs from here…

…but there are no res or cap librarys in there?
Do you know where i can find these?
The most common basic symbols are in Device. Just try searching for R etc. in the symbol chooser dialog.
Or are they really absent from the libraries?
Nah they are in Device. That library really should be split to have a “Passives” one to be less confusing to new users.
The bigger question here seems to be why you want to download KiCad libraries in the first place, and why they are (apparently?) not installed together with installing KiCad.
