Rename a symbol (part) - part2

I’m currently using the latest Kicad nightly (which should be 5.0rc something)
I’ve noticed you can copy / paste symbol’s between symbol libraries

But renaming the symbol once it’s been pasted seems to be a problem

I found a previous thread where this was mentioned but it doesn’t seem to mention how to rename the symbol

I think it’s already been filed as a bug here

short of manually editing the .lib file
is there any other easy way to rename symbols?

Edit the value field in the canvas. (Editing it in the symbol properties dialog did not work when i last checked. This might have changed.)
