Removing solder mask from RF traces

I have a fairly complex RF board and need to remove the solder mask from the RF traces - but not from around the footprints as the parts will be hand soldered. I tried drawing over the traces on the mask layer but I can only get 6 mil traces. Must be a setting somewhere for that, but I can’t find it. My 50 ohm traces are 38 mils. Thanks for any help.

You can draw polyline on mask layers and edit each segment thickness individually or change default line thickness in Board setup -> text and graphics.

What Version of KiCad are you using?

Edit then Edit Text & Graphic Properties… should get you started.

Also, should that menu item be a little un-intuitive, you should be able to edit each segment, or the entire graphic item of multiple segments (with some “Shift” or “Alt” or “Ctrl” press while left-clicking a single segment).

You may have a look at here:

Solder mask net clearance would be the needed option.

I can do it successfully by editing individual trace segments. Just thought there might be an easier way.

Thanks - bdh
