I’m using v8.02 and the noise modelling looks interesting. so…
Are there ‘non-ideal’ resistors in the Kicad library? I couldn’t find any,
and not sure how to make one from scratch.
TIA

All standard resistors exhibit thermal noise (S=4kTR) when simulated in ngspice.
Noise simulation and modeling is as much an art as well as science. You will find an introduction to noise in circuits e.g. in the book ‘CMOS, circuit design, layouit and simulation’ by R. Jacob Baker in chpater 8.
What do you mean by ‘non-ideal’?
Thanks for the info. By non-ideal I meant a resistor with noise, as I assumed the ones in Kicad
are just a pure resistor.
I have some good op-amp models from TI, and these do work to show their inherent noise.
My tests with Kicad sim so far produce zero noise from resistors. This was the reason I thought I needed some different Kicad model or setting to use resistors with noise.
