Adding teardrops isn’t behind an advanced flag anymore, it can now be found under Tools without tinkering a config file.
It’s not simple. Try “Scope”, “Style” and “Options” first, then the dimension parameters if needed.

Find it actually very simple and intuitive.
The default dimesnion settings are usable out of the box.
Scope: Vias and PTH pads
Style: all curved
Options: as per default
→ best results
