Board set up, project is missing or read only. some settings cannot be edited

but if I add something into the pcb then save, close and open again, I see that they are being saved?
if I try to import settings, then it will edit the board set up, and save it, but I still can’t manually edit them

This happens when the project directory (or files within) is read-only. (Windows).
On Linux there may be access rights problems, but I’m not competent in Linux/Unix.

in the end I solved by saving into an external folder
I’m on windows, it was my folder, where I was working on, I did not download the project from anywhere to be read only, dunno how it became read only
