Zoom while drag is gone? (v5.99)

Hi
I just build kicad v5.99 from git and noticed that zooming with the mousewheel WHILE dragging a component in eeschema or pcbnew is obviously gone… If I remember correctly this was possible in earlier versions.
Is there an option re-enable that behavior or is this sacrificed to some kind of optimization?
