You really should avoid segment fill unless your fabricator has problems with the polygon fill (or a bug in polygon fill prevents you from making a good Gerber file). The segment fill is the old way of doing things (dating back to the Gerber specification for optical typesetters) and if the polygon fill works properly then there is no longer any need for the segment fill.
