Hi everyone,
I just upgraded to 9.0.1 and noticed that the snapping behavior changed compared to 8.0. I often have a hard time snapping to e.g. center points of pads. I made two videos comparing the behavior:
KiCad 8.0.5
KiCad 9.0.1
I used the measurement tool to demonstrate but it behaves the same when using tools like move with reference.
Can this be considered a bug or is there something in the options I can change? I have the options “Snap to pads” set to always.
Best regards,
Moe

I noticed, when deleting the tracks leading to the center of the pad, snapping behaves normal again. What’s happening? KiCad 8.0 worked better in that case. See this video.
I see the same behavior when using the measure tool (looks like bug). When routing tracks, it always snaps to the center of the pad (as I would expect).
If I move with reference, I do see the same behavior also.
With a normal move, I do see the same behavior also.
Looks like in some situations snapping is a bit ‘buggy’.
