Wifi and bluetooth antenna pcb layout question

Hello i have a question, will having two wifi antennas in close proximity cause any issues with noise or connectivity?

Little footnotes, the two wifi antennas are U.Fl to external larger antenna not a patch antenna. The antennas will also be used for two different microcontrollers just in the the same electronic enclosure and also one of the antennas will be used to create a Access point and the second will be be listening for bluetooth commands.

Thanks in advance

Also antennas will be spaced no more than about 2.30 inches apart

Well, I’d say that it should work, just like if you had two devices that were close to each other.
Moreover, in Wifi / Bluetooth standard there are channels, so if there are too many devices on a frequency, a device can switch to a slightly different one.

Given the fact that we see every day Bluetooth and wifi ( or multiple wifi networks ) next to each other without much interference, I’d say it’s pretty safe. But of course, it depends on your application. ( If your device is not respecting the channel bandwidth, or emitting too much power compared to the standard, you could jam yourself )

Use radio modules that are certified / from “good” manufacturers, do your layout with care, have a good ground plane where needed, and you should not have any problem.

well, the real problem is that if this is a “real” product that someone intends on selling, you will not be able to use the modules existing FCC/CE, etc. certifications. almost all modules are FCC certified with the “must be 20cm from other radios” (where radios are modules, antennas, etc.).
