Why this when clicking components with just one connection/pad?

Every time I choose a component with just one pin/one pad, I get 2 options. Why?

The reason is probably because you can select pad or whole footprint. If footprint have more pads you can point to pad or whole footprint. With element having one pad it is more difficult (try out of pad, but inside coutyard).

I believe (but I’m not sure) in some previous KiCad version you could only select footprint and you could move footprint only catching it by its anchor and life was easier.
After a moment thinking I suppose that in V5 footprint could be locked as a whole, could have pads locked (and you probably was not able to select pad) and could be totally unlocked - you could move each pad independent of the whole footprint.
I think that possibility of selecting pads left from those functionality.
Try unchecking ‘Pad’ in Selection Filter.

Thanks a lot, Piotr. I just checked it, and these components where this happens here didn’t have a Courtyard. After adding a Courtyard, it works as wanted. Case solved!
