Why does my newer project version not show pads?

I have attached zips of older and newer versions of a small project. When I open the 2021 (newer) version, I see no pads. The older version looks OK. The two versions are otherwise very similar. But they probably originated from different versions of KiCad.

What is going on?

Edit: The older zip includes some documentation so makes for a bigger zip file. But you can ignore this documentation if you want, or not if you don’t want, or ???

Duh…Thank you. Problem solved.

I am pretty sure that I would not have intentionally turned off pad visibility. Does that setting stay with the project? I downloaded the project to another computer and saw the same thing…

Yes, in the kicad_prl file among other visibility settings.
