Why can't I adjust the chamfer anymore by dragging the midpoint of the zone edge?

I don’t know since when this is happening as I didn’t touch this project for a couple of months but it loks like a bug in the recent version. I reset all settings to the defaults but it behaves the same.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix?

P.S. It also does this is newly created projects.

What changed? (In your opinion). Best I know KiCad has always behaved in this way: If you grab the mid point of a line segment of a zone, it moves that segment. If you drag a corner, the corner moves. I just verified this in KiCad V8.0.9.

Pretty sure it’s a glitch that now hapens since the V9.0.6. update while they were fixing Issue #21897. In the attached video bellow you can see how it behaved before, now it does the old behaviour only when you enable the “Constrain mode”, but before it didn’t glitch out like that when you drag it out to make the corner 90deg, you could stil drag it back in and get the chamfer back.

For me, the global behavior is the same. With Constrain to H, V, 45 the chamfer can be enlarged or shrunken. When that mode is off, the segment is dragged.

But from your last description, This is apparently about when you drag the chamfer into oblivion, and then try to drag it back. That does work in KiCad V8.0.9, but there was no hint at all in your opening post that your question was about this behavior.

Yeah, I discovered after posting that I can get it to somewhat behave like before when the contstrained mode is enabled. It’s definetly glitched now as it doesn’t even have a predictable behaviour during the individual dragging session. Also, before it allowed me to drag this inverted chamfer back inward into position (it becomes inverted when resizing a chamered zone). Will see if I can submit this thread as a bug report.

P.S. When dragging, it doesn’t respect the selected grid size. It just defaults to the absolute minimal step size one or something like that.

This version is so cooked. It doesn’t even respect the grid size on anything. I feel like I’m going insane.
