Anyone knows why in Kicad 9.0 it’s nomore possible while editing/drawing in layout, to go to the panel tool? I thing this was alowed in the previsous versions, but I might be wrong…
Example: Creating a rectangular shape or creating a Text in layout, during the creation mode and at the same time chose on what layer it will be created.
Sorry, but I still don’t know what you are talking about. There’s no text “layer view” in any UI component in KiCad. The closest I can get is the “Appearance” panel and “Layers” tab there. If I choose a layer to be active, i.e. it has the triangle mark on the left side of the layer name, I can draw a graphical shape on that layer. If I start the Draw Text tool, KiCad opens the Text Properties dialog where the active layer is already pre-selected but can be changed.
I’m trying to reach the mouse thre and I can’t. I’ve to cancel the draw creation and select first in what layer I want. And I know of coarse I can do it after making the shape by double clicking on it… But I’m talking doing this on the fly to be faster.
It works for me too. (kicad 9.0.1 on Win10 and on Win11)
As there is a big chance that such issues depend on your special computer cofiguration its always good to give detailed information about your kicad installation. (use Kicad–>help–>copy system information button).
