It could also have to do with wxWidgets, I haven’t investigated if there are parts shared between platforms there.
yes, Windows 10. I don’t know the answer to your question, but I have opened another application (UltraEdit) that is translated into several languages, Italian included. As you can see in their Print Preview, all is translated correctly:
Salvatore
Regarding the translations: There are several other cases of context related translation styles where it is a question on how they fit to existing bug tracker and how to tackle as an issue as they are not strong bugs.
E.g. if you use the German version, first glimpse shows really weird menue entries from automatic translations. This is a point where new users come in touch with Kicad. Typically new users are curious to understand the menues without reading the instructions and maybe to learn the keyboard accelerators. English sources for schematic menue are “Place->Add Anything” what seems ok for use.
The German translation for the Place Menue is “Hinzufügen” what is better than “Platzieren”. After this, the “add” is also translated with “hinzufügen” what is not wrong. Unfortunetely its not only poor style but it is simply redundant using the long and complicated vocabulary “hinzufügen” twice
e.g. “Hinzufügen → Symbol hinzufügen”.
This has been fixed in nightly by commit:
