I have a special configuration for the BOM generator to match the PartsBox requirements.
I can save this configuration all right. But it seems that this is only stored in the project. Opening another project loses the configuration, it does not show up in the format selection.
This does not make much sense, as I have to configure the BOM for each new project, which is tedious at best.
If I am missing something, please correct me.
If not it’s over to the bug tracker for a feature request.
Writing from place without KiCad.
Somewhere there are some (at least one) ‘get configuration from another project’. May be it can help.
I generally start each project from copying its previous version and if it is new I have my ‘Empty default project’ to start such projects also from copying. If I find some new to configure working at some project I do it in current project and also in my ‘Empty def…’.
This does not make much sense, as I have to configure the BOM for each new project, which is tedious at best.
Yes, the recreation of the BOM-presets for every project is not exciting.
As a shortcut you could try “File–>Schematic setup–>Import Settings from another project”, then enable checkbox “BOM Presets”.
This feature was implemented not so long ago - so maybe a update is necessary.
(I assumed that you were talkiong about the v7.99 development version, which you have used already in the past).
