I remember once that KiCAd has option to change multipart numbering like: U1A-U1B, U1.A-U1.B, U1_A - U1_B.
But I forgot what version.
Now I can find such option, maybe someone here knows? I use nighlty version:
Version: 7.99.0-808-g140f76b870, release build
It’s a dropdown under Schematic setup, and I had to go looking for it again, easy to forget.
