Where are the default settings for Copper Zone Properties

Not sure if this has always happened, but I’ve been recently annoyed by the zone tool not saving properties between creating new zones (consistently). Before placing a zone, I set up the various properties. That particular zone retains the set properties. However, the next time I go to place a zone, I have to do everything again (most of the time, but not every time).

Anyone know where the defaults for Copper Zones are set?

I have the same issue… Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I would prefer if I could just setup defaults. I didn’t find the config, this seems to be hardcoded? Happens both on MacOS and Linux.

You should start by updating to KiCad V9.0.2. Even halfway though a project. The first few bug fix releeases of any new mayor KiCad version always have quite a lot of (mostly minor) bugs. Quite a lot of people (Expecially companies, who depend on reliability) only update to the newest mayor KiCad release half a year or more after it’s initial release, when those bugs are ironed out. For DIY, early adopters who make bug reports (or even go actively hunting for them) are a valuable addition to the KiCad project. It’s one of the easiest ways in which any KiCad user can help with improving KiCad and giving something back.

I have not used KiCad V9 yet. In older versions there is an easy way to copy zone properties from one zone to another. It’s not a fix, but it might ease the pain somewhat.
