When will the help files be included in 6.*?

Hi everyone!

Just a small question out of curiosity: I’ve gotten used seeing the nightlies (5.99 / 6.0rc1) having no help files available (in their 1.1GB Installation file). Now that we are a few weeks away from the release of 6.0, I was meaning to ask:

  • Will they be included upon release ?
  • Are they already written (and available somewhere ?)
  • If not, when will they be written?

Does someone here know anything about this topic ?

Best regards,

Alexander aka @hwreverse

In some form, yes. I’m not sure why the (work-in-progress) docs aren’t included in the Windows nighlies.

https://docs.kicad.org/master/ is where the docs for the nightly builds live. They are a work-in-progress; we do not have nearly as many people helping to write documentation as we do writing code.

Most parts are not yet updated for 6.0. The PCB editor chapter is probably the most up-to-date; the schematic editor chapter is the least up-to-date as of right now.
