Way to export 2D kicad_mod file to DXF or other format?

I have a need to export a Kicad footprint (kicad_mod) file to DXF or DWG format. I don’t need 3D, just the 2D footprint. Thanks!

A bit harder way, but you can place your footprint on a blank Pcbnew sheet, and then plot each used layer to DXF with the File -> Plot command. If you exclude some plot options - frame border, ref designators you got only your footprint.

Thanks for the quick reply! It would be nice to be able to do it right from the footprint editor.
However, your suggestion might get me by since I only need a few footprints.
