Using Via Fencing plugin

I am using 5.1.8 on Windows
I have made a trivial design with one net between two resistors and GND, double sided board.
I have tried pacing planes on both sides, but just cannot get any vias placed

Which of the plugins are you using for the vias ?

I gave it a try with jsreynaud plugin and it worked ok.

Via stitching works and gives similar results to your screenshot.

Via Fencing is a different function and the result is supposed to look like this

Ups, I know the plugin but got confused.

I gave it try and i got it to work by deselecting the “Remove VIAS violating clearence rules”

Maybe something to let @maui know about.

EDIT: The plugin version is v2.1

After a bit more experimentation, the default values for Offset and Pitch do not work correctly on my test project, changing them works also:

it works on my side… have you assigned the fill zones to GND (or whatever net you need)?
If you upload the board, it would be easier to investigate.

Working, @der.ule gave me the clue, the default via size requires 1.3/1.3 offset and pitch
The plugin defaults could do with a tweak, especially as nothing is remembered every time you run the plugin
