"Update PCB from Schematic" greyed out after crash

KiCad 7.0.10 on Windows 11. KiCad crashed when I was in the middle of updating a footprint (on a diode, I realized I had selected the wrong size).

Opening the schematic, there was a dialog about manual recovery, but the schematic all looks correct.

However, when I go to the menu to update the board from the schematic, that option is greyed out.

Has the crash severed the connection between schematic and board?

Open the schematic from the Project Manager.

You probably double-clicked on the .sch file, and it opened in the Schematic editor, causing it to run in “standalone mode.”
