Unwanted branch in copper zone

Just like this image, the copper in the blue box is unwanted. How to remove it?

Zone is filled “blindly” according to clearance and width values. There would be several occasions where the stub would disappear.

Zone or nearby pad clearance could be larger - in that case there would be no room for it.

Zone and/or pad clearance could be smaller - in that case the stub would be connected to the rest of the zone.

Zone minimum width could be smaller - in that case the stub would be connected to the rest of the zone.

Because there are many things which affect filling it may be difficult to say what you have to tweak, especially because we don’t know what values you need othewise.

A simple solution which works well if the locations of the surrounding footprints are final is to add a small keepout zone there.

Why is it unwanted ? It is correct by DRC
However, if your boss ‘does not like the look of it’, you can put down voids/keepouts, and tag those as copper, so overlaying one in that small area, will ‘rub out’ the unwanted stub

I’m not sure about current versions but there has been discussion in the past that default zone clearance settings may be a ‘tad generous’ and you should at least visit those settings if you haven’t already.
