Unwanted auto track deletion (solved)

Has anyone else found that routing a duplicate a track on a different layer deletes the original?
I sometimes do this when I want to increase current capacity on power traces but have to resort to selecting the original track, duplicating (ctrl+d) and then changing layer by editing the new track.
I tried turning off ‘auto delete old tracks’ without success.

Using version 5.0.2 on Ubuntu 16.04.

In Route menu check for Interactive routing settings. Uncheck “Remove Redundant Tracks” option
