Unable to define the edge of the PCB

OS: Arch Linux, KiCad version 4.0.1-stable

I don’t know, why I am unable to define the edge of the PCB. I do select Edge.Cuts first, then click on graphic line, but whenever I start adding the line, a dialogue box pop-ups and says what I don’t understand.

KiCad was running fine till yesterday.

You only click with the mouse to define a (start) point - don’t hold the button to start drawing.
Make a click per ‘corner’/‘point’/etc…

If you hold the button the selection-box is being drawn and it asks you what you want to select from the stuff inside that box.

I wouldn’t blame Altium and/or Multisim. Many thanks for the reply, Sparky.

Here is something else which seems wrong to me. Why do ratsnests disappear completely after defining edge.cuts?
