Unable to copy components from one sheet to another

Hi,

I am trying to copy componnets from one sheet into another. For this I create a new sheet, and save it as something. Then I append the old components which I need to copy. However , after closing and opening, the data is not there any more. WHat am I doing wrong?

There is a small glitch in the stable release: it does not realise that the sheet has been modified by the action of appending. So the file is not always saved when you close the project.
Follow these steps:

  • Append to your sheet as you tried.
  • Move any component so that KiCad knows there have been changes
  • Save the sheet
  • Close the project
  • Open the project

And that should do it :smile:
