I’m trying to create a solid ground pour with via stitching on both the top and bottom layers in KiCad 7, but I’m not getting the results I expect. The vias don’t seem to connect the zones properly, or sometimes they don’t show up at all after a fill.
I’ve double-checked my net settings and used the “Via Stitching” tool under the “Edit” menu, but I still feel like I might be missing a step.
Has anyone run into this issue before or knows the correct procedure to get consistent via stitching between layers?

In KiCad V8 I have: PCB Editor / Place / Add Vias [Ctrl + Shift + V] but this is in the Place menu, not in the Edit menu.
Via’s can have different properties. If you place freestanding via’s, then they are set to a specific net, if they are placed inside a zone, but they are set to “automatically update via nets” if the via was placed outside of the zone, and probably when there are zone conflicts (such as multiple zones with different nets on different layers. In that case you can set the via properties manually.
