I am new to KiCad. I have done several THD designs with it and now I am working on my first, much smaller SMD design. Normal routing is not a problem, but I have several parts where I want traces coming from a rather small IC to spread out to keep the length of the small diameter zone as short as possible.
The datasheet reconmends the golden layout, I have tried to copy that it with regular traces (bottom) and with filled zones (top):
When using regular traces it looks very unprofessional, but when using filled zones to free form my traces, these zones tend to collide with the GND zone that I add at the end.
