I would like to connect the chip’s tab to ground but it seems like it doesn’t allow me to do so according to the attached picture.
Is the tab marked GND? Is it connected on the schematic?
The symbol I downloaded doesn’t seem to have a tab port. But the datasheet recommend for the tab to be grounded. So im not quite sure how to edit the footprint of the tab to make it a ground connection. Pls see the updated pic
SOT-223-6 is a standard footprint in the KiCad library. Since pin 3 is also connected to the tab you might prefer SOT-223-6-TabPin3.
