I’m trying to modify an old PCB in double-sided and now, placing a new VIAS, it doesn’t let me do it and I get the message “Tool via not available with traditional tools” … what is this stuff? First time that happens, and it does it to me on a new PCB too
Are you in the legacy toolkit / editing mode / canvas? Change to Preferences -> Modern Toolset or press F11.
Ah ok, it was just that, now it works: but can I change the size of the VIAS?
After you have placed them or before? One at a time or several? Also, please always give you exact KiCad version (Help -> About).
Resolved! Thanks anyway, I went to SETUP> DESIGN RULES and from there I set the size and hole of the VIAS (I don’t know if they remain valid for all projects or only for this one). My version of Kicad is 5.0.0 from 2018, it’s still fine and I don’t know if it’s worth updating: the last time I did it, it caused me trouble!
