Thermal_bridge_angle 45?

Hello All,

So I figured out how to bulk edit the footprint files in notepad. The first few files I edited where straight forward. I then came across one with this weird entry before the “tstamp”.
(thermal_bridge_angle 45)
I figured out what it was but I could not figure out where that setting was in the footprint editor. The pads where initially set to 270 degrees. Is that why? I just cleared out that part of the line, set the pads to 0 and all was good. Just curious if anyone knows off the top of their heads.

The angle of the thermal relief spokes?

It’s in Clearance Overrides etc. tab in pad properties dialog. The automatic spokes when a zone is filled may be non-optimal, depending on the nearby pads. 45 degrees may give 4 good spokes instead of only 2 if the pads are located in a certain way in the footprint.

Yep. That’s the one. I wonder why they chose to call it that in the config file.

I found it. Thank you very much. Upon further investigation I discovered that if the pad s set to “Oval” the spokes with be at 90 degrees. If I change it to “Circle” they will be at 45 degrees. It’s not causing any issues. I was just curious. I have just started to edit the raw data in the files as it’s much quicker when performing some tasks.

Thanks again,
Drew
