I just wanted to Publicly thank Chris Gammel for making the Contextual Electronics KiCad Toutorial’s Free to Everybody.
I spent about a week straight going over the training videos and Fast Forward 30 days later and I have created 2 custom 4 layer boards for a few new product designs I am creating.
I couldn’t find any good full tutorials for Eagle Cad which was the most popular platform out there so that kept me from using Eagle.
Then I saw that Chris had make his KiCad tutorial videos free via a Adafruit.com blog post. I checked it out and decided it was time to dive in and see if I could actually make circuit boards myself instead of having to pay others thousands of dollars to create boards for me.
I’m very happy with KiCad and I’ve very happy that I have the knowledge and freedom to design custom PCB’s on my own time with virtually no cost other than the time I invest in the design.
Thanks again for the videos and this forum for questions that the videos do not answer.
