For symbol placement inside schematic I frequently feel a little clumsy for several reasons:
There is a setup in Preferences->SymbolEditor->EditingOptions->RepeatedItems what possibly belongs to this topic but I cannot verify if it is something diffrent.
After Placement of any symbol, it is typically required to place same symbol again. Therefore its possible to use the insert key to repeat the placement. Is it possible to setup this behaviour as default without using the insert key? Instead insert key to stop placement of this symbol using the esc key what is located left hand at far better position at the keyboard.
For multi-gate symbols like the 7400, my workflow is normally to place all gates at once. Not forget the power box what leads to unsupplied IC in design (if you skip further warnings). Therefore the repeated placement should do a round robin automatic between the gates. To place 2 pieces of 7400 ICs then requires 10 mouse clicks followed by escape key.
For my opinion, instructions like “Place->Symbol” or “Place->Wire” are perfect intuitive to use and remember. Why ist the complete Place Menu using the redundant “Add” keyword before?
I’ve got there “Import sheet pin” which doesn’t have “Add”. Changing it to “Imported sheet pin” would make it comparable to other items, at least in English, and “Add” could be removed. I agree that the repeated word is very ugly, and also needless except for this one caveat.

This setting belongs to the “repeat last item” command. This is a hotkey-driven command (standard hotkey: INSERT) which repeats your last action/command with some x/y coordinate offset. Some users like this for workflow to place repeated things - like many labels on a connector or so.
