Having altered my drives the symbol libraries are now in the wrong drives.
If I go to preferences/manage symbol libraries the locations appear at the bottom of the page, it looks as if I can alter the drive? I can click on it and highlight the drive letter but pressing backspace or another drive letter does not change the drive letter in the box. Is there another way of doing it?
I am not the expert here…but are you discussing your personal libraries or the KiCad standard libraries?
This may be critical, and your response will help someone else give you the best answer to your question.

The kicad standard libraries
You’re in the wrong place (I cursed this “apparently able to edit, but you’re not” screen myself. Totally annoying).
Go the Preferences → Configure Paths… instead, that’ll work.
