Switching language in KiCAD

I’m running a german version of Kicad under macOS. I see no way to switch to another language (e.g. English). Can anyone give some hints? I read that the language packs are installed with the symbol & footprint libraries and 3d models
and go into
/Library/Application Support/kicad/share/internat

I don’t have these.

Preferences → Set Language does not work?
Oh, wait, it is Einstellungen → Sprache

I wouldn’t even know how to install a German version. Do I get asked when installing?

I downloaded the macOS installer (IIRC) and the german version got installed.

There is no Einstellungen->Sprache

There is no “German version”. All the installers install all available languages and you can switch between them at runtime.

This seems to be Windows. The macOS GUI looks different.

No, it is macOS…

The languages setting is in the Preferences menu in the top bar, not in the Preferences dialog

There is no Einstellungen->Sprache

So you “installed the German Version”, and there is a “Einstellungen → Sprache”. I checked that, on MacOS.
What you selected (at least tried to) was KiCad → Einstellungen → $NoSuchThing"

Excuse me. I found it in the top bar (macOS) . Just been blind. Switching language worked.
