Ok, I am doing my best to follow the migration path of KiCad, but I am missing something (I think).
In version 5.9999 are the schematic symbols now “saved” into the schematic itself? like EaglePCB (May Autodesk die in pain!) does?
I think the answer is “yes” because if I look into the schematic file with a text editor, I think I see the symbol files them selves now embedded into the schematic. If so, this is GREAT news, because it means I can share my schematic’s with people that don’t have a local copy of my library!
Along the same lines, it looks as if the PC-Bard file now includes the footprints used in the board inside the PC bard files! Again, I think this means that I can send my PC board to others without having to send all of my footprint libraries?? Please tell me this is the case??
Icing on the cake?? Are the 3d models now included in the PC board files too?????
Sorry for the stupid questions, but this is a huge development if my understanding of this is correct.
