Stuck on Solarized Dark Theme Icons

Hey, I tried to install the Solarized Dark Theme because I’m a night owl and I’m also a freak in controlling the amount of light coming into my eyes late at night.

So I installed it, and I quickly realized that it doesn’t work because I’m on windows and apparently dark themes don’t work on windows, anyway. I uninstalled it, but the icons stayed the same.

I tried rebooting, installing other themes but nothing seems to work. This is especially annoying since, as a Dark Theme, the icons are bright for contrast obviously so with a bright UI it is quite hard to see the icons.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? I really would like to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling KiCad but if that’s the only way I guess it will have to be.

In Preferences > Preferences > Editor (choose from the four) > Colors (All 4 Editors are independent. You may need to alter more than one), click on the arrow at the RH end of the Theme box. A list of available themes will show. Choose what you wish or create your own with the “new theme” at the bottom of the list.

I tried it but still have the old icons. I think that only controls the colors of the schematic/PCB itself not the icons:

Icon theme is unrelated to color themes (so they are not “solarized dark theme icons”). It’s a separate preference (in Common).

Yup, that was it, don’t know how I missed it. Thanks!
