Replies in the issue suggest it may be caused by incorrect OS update process or other configuration, since it doesn’t reproduce on a clean OS install. And it appears not driver-dependent.
Indeed I’ve installed kicad v9 in an upgraded Linux Mint from 20 to 21. Not a fresh install.
I suspected that it might be something related to this upgrade, but since I was able to do it without any problems (and without any errors), I wanted to ask in the forum to be sure. I hadn’t seen any messages related to this issue. Sorry if I caused any inconvenience.
It is clear that this issue does not appear from a fresh Linux install and it is not driver dependent but…
I have seen that this is the only panel that fails. The rest of the KiCad panels/menus work as expected.
Switching between Layers and Nets panels works fine without overlap.
Switching Objects → Layers and Objects → Nets also works fine
The panel visualization fails (overlap) when switching Layers or Nets to Objects.
I find that strange. Is there anything that can be improved to fix this issue regardless of whether you start with a fresh install or not? This would prevent unnecessary posts like mine
