Strange behavior when adding libraries from V6 tarball source

When posting this I notice the ‘open mod files’ at top. I am entering here:

Any reason I should be able to use shift/click to highlight multiple files with the symbol library but not the footprint library?

.pretty libraries are not files while .kicad_sym libraries are files. The problem is probably in the UI widgets library, it doesn’t handle folders and files identically, which is natural. You seems to use Linux; have you tried this on Windows?

Maybe this can be fixed in KiCad, maybe not.
