Hello forum,
is someone able to let me know why the step export of the PCB I created fails? The process stopps with the following notice:
“Failed to load board, Loading board, *** Prozess mit Rückgabewert 3 fehlgeschlagen ***”
This is also the case if I try to export to any other 3D file type. I was using KiCad 8.99 to create the board. 3D visualization of the board works perfectly, but the export fails.

Build version of 8.99 matters, this is a rapidly changing and buggy version
Hello all, I figured that the problem was related to an undefined layer. I opened the file in notepad++ and replaced Rescue with F.Fab, after that the file could be exported as expected.

It’s still worth reporting this as a bug. A useful error message would have clearly shown what needed doing.
