I realize for the first time a very standard component cannot be found: The SR latch 74HC279
I seen it had been requested some years ago. Any idea where to find it?

I had a quick look around and also can’t find it anywhere. The fastest way will just be to clone another component and create a new symbol for the 279.
It’s just a rectangle with some pins on it. Have a go at creating it. You’ll learn stuff for the next more complicated device.
I like to edit schematic symbols so that the schematic has minimal crossing wires. Wires crossed?

The footprint is the easy part. Choose just about any DIP16 package and take away what you don’t want.
I would take it and change it in the symbol editor and save it.
I would make a 5 unit symbol (4 latch and 1 power unit) since the units are more likely to be used individually than bussed.
