[SOLVED] Tidy or beautifier for tracks?

I would like to easily remove kinks/extra corners in a track. Like here in GPIO5 track.

I read something about a tool to help placing tracks. Is it autorouter only, or where is it?

There are settings to consider and are located in different places and can influence routing and placing things… You’ll need to find them and play around with them to understand how they might help make your work-flow consistently easier…

Vid shows tweaking a track and the ('Sometimes’Unknown to user’s) Interactive Route settings but, not shown are the other panels/settings…
(Added: Oh, don’t forget about the Grid and Not Snapping (usually a Keystroke to Enable/Disable) while dragging items…)

Interactive routing was a word I was looking for. I’ll see what I can find. Thanks

The Interactive router has a very strong tendency to put everything into multiples of 45 degrees that it touches. Apart from that, there is also PCB Editor / Tools / Cleanup Tracks and Vias.

Better than nothing. KiCad is better now in fixing or moving ugly tracks, so I could do that myself too. But some nice tool could optimize the whole track.

" Apart from that, there is also **PCB Editor / Tools / Cleanup Tracks and Vias" I don’t think this will fix ugly routes. It looks like it fixes only clear errors. I use it after updating the PCB from SCH.

I marked this as Solved, when I found the word Interactive router. But this could be better in KiCad. I have a (bad) habit of fixing or editing my old boards, there is always somethings to improve. By the way, KiCad is getting better, so I am not negative but there is always room for improvement in Software too.

Just for completeness, if you draw a new track between the two pads, the old track generally gets deleted automatically (as per the setting “automatically remove redundant tracks”) however, if the old and new track are very similar it will work only in small chunks.
