[SOLVED] Pad wont connect to ground plane

Hi again folks,
first off, I really appreciate your support!

I’m using a potentiometer that has 2 legs connected to GND:

After I created a filled zone in pcbnew and hit the DRC, pad 2 does connect to this plane:

I could not find any rule that excludes this pad being tied to the plane. Also, I could not route a track to and from this pad. I tried to choose solid pad connections instead of thermal reliefs but that also didnt connect pad 2.
What am I missing here?

Did you make sure the pad has NOT “none” in Pad Properties->Connection To Copper Zones?

Yes, the pad connection type is thermal relief:

I just found the issue.
There was a hole on the board outline layer directly below the pad.
Due to both being yellow, it seems that I have overlooked the hole.
Everything work as expected now
