[Solved] Move lock to 0, 45 and 90°

Hi,
I’m user of Kicad from few years. I think there is an usefull fonction to add into eeschema and pcbnew.
Just with hold [CTRL] or [ALT] button on move mouse, lock in one of 2 or 3 axes, horizontal, vertical and diagonal when you want to move a componante or graphical object.
It can be a great function.
Good job.
Regards

Select an object, press M for Move, press an arrow key once, move the mouse. H/V is locked.

current situation:
CTRL is assigned as “ignore grid snapping”.
Shift is assigned as “ignore other elements snapping”
ALT is not possible due to windows-Linux-Max compatibility
for H/V-locking: try Shift+Space

Don’t be ashamed!

In 6.0.10 Preferences / Preferences / Hotkeys there are over 450 functions that can be assigned Hotkeys, more in 7.0.0-rc.

Who can remember that lot?

Also, I couldn’t even find

that one in the list! :slightly_smiling_face:

Kicad is Free Open Source Software.
The software is written and the documentation follows… eventually
