Slight problem with fuseholder (clip in) in layout

Hi there!

I’m having a slight problem/annoyancy with a clip in fuseholder (Fuse:Fuseholder_Clip-5x20mm_Littelfuse_521_Lateral_P17.00x5.00mm_D1.30mm_Horizontal to be specific).
So the fuseholder consits of two parts. One at each end. One part has two spades (THT). In layout, KiCAD assumes, that such a pair of spades is not connected. So it wants me to connect them, despite of being obviously one single part making a connection already.
Instead of ignoring the error, is there a nicer solution? The track required is simply in the way of routing.

TIA,
Nick

There is an open feature request for this issue.

As you say, ignoring the unconnected ratsnest is an option.

Another workaround is to use a non-used copper layer and make the connection on it. It will keep the DRC happy. When the layout is finished, do not create the Gerber file for that layer.

Thanks for the quick repley!

So I will ignore it and stop nitpicking.

Maybe you could edit the footprint to give them distinct pad numbers, only use one and put NC on the other?

I use this approach too. But usually it requires the rework of the schematic if you need both pins for routing.
