Simple 'reference' EMC test

Any easy and affortable way to do ‘reference’ EMC test?

Time ago, I was told to place a gas cooker lighter that generates 5mm spark in air at certain distance from the device and see if it run into error or hang up.

Our current design has metal can over MCU.

Should un-used GPIO pin be outputting zero. Will it use more current than setting as input with internal pull up or down? Few uA is esential for months on battery.

Hi @Dave1

I’m sorry, but this forum is about using Kicad, not reference books on electronic design.

You would probably get better results from forums such as EEVblog.

Sorry for my post that might had leaded to some trouble for not on topic.

Yes, thanks for advises on rulrs for this forum.

I’m closing this. Static discharge (ESD) can easily destroy ICs if they are not properly protected.
