Silkscreen text not generated on gerber

I have added text on the silkscreen layer in my PCB but this is not generated on the gerber file. It must be a toggle in the settings somewhere but I dont know where.

Dammit I figured it out. I had to tick the “Plot footprint values” on the gerber output option. But these are no footprint values! its text.

Isnt the box “plot footprint values” something that needs to be changed to like “plot silkscreen geometries” sth like that? should I file a bug?

The screenshot in the lower right quadrant of the first image clearly shows that the text is the value of the pad S3 as the line to the pad indicates, and not freestanding text like a board ID.
