Showing Courtyard collision

Hello.
Maybe this is an silly question, but I can’t figure it out by myself.
My KiCAD (version 8.0) is not showing a Shadow, when I try to place components that will have a courtyard collision. I know that this is possible, because a few month ago, KiCAD was showing it.

I have checked the preferences → PCB Editor → Editing Options → Miscellaneous → Show courtyard collisions when moving/dragging. It is enabled.
And I also checked in the Appearance Manager → Objects → Conflict Footprint Shadow. It is enabled, too.

I don’t know if there is another option I have to enable and I could not find a topic in this forum or via google that helped me.

Does anyone here have an idea, what I am doing wrong?

Is it the Interactive Router settings ?

Hello.
Thank you for the quick reply, but unfortunatelly, it is still not working.

Did you turn off the Conflict Footprint Shadow ?

No, it is turned on.

Sorry, yes you did previously mention that . . . I’ve not looked to see if it’s a known bug that’s been fixed in a recent version, we are on version 8.0.6 currently.

My KiCAD Version is 8.0.5. It’s according to the KiCAD website the latest stable version.
Maybe it is something in the preferences?

What about DRC Error Courtyard Overlap? Isn’t it set to be Ignored?

Hello Piotr.
Thank you for your help, but the DRC error is not set to “Ignore”

DRC complains about overlapping.
I’m running 8.0.6 - RC1. I’m still looking for a way to make Conflict Footprint work.

I’ve just installed 8.0.6 rc1 and it works for me, I am on Windows though, that might be the difference.

Hello again.
Maybe it is really a bug.

When I add a component from the library, and I want to place it directly after I chose it from the library, there is no collision warning. But, when I choose the footprint, place it anywhere on the PCB and after that I select the same footprint and move it, there is a collision warning. Does anyone of you have the same issue that you have to place the footprint first?

It works for me but only while moving a footprint. As soon as the move is complete, ie. a LMB click, the conflict color vanishes.

Looks like I am getting the same thing, new footprint added . . .

After being dropped . . . and subsequently moved . . .

After I have finished the move the conflict colour is removed . . .

I’m glad it’s not down to me or my KiCAD settings. I now know how to deal with it.
Thank you very much for your support.
